I'm afraid I have to be short and sweet tonight - we need to get up early tomorrow for a day trip, and I've squandered all my blogging time over the last few days on (so far) fruitless endeavors in CSS customization. Thrilling stuff, I know (and my apologies to S. for my mini-breakdown on GChat earlier). Not to worry, I'll make these lemons into limoncello somehow, and hopefully be sharing the results with you all soon.

A trip to the biggest and oldest flea market in Paris over the weekend called for an outfit that was easy yet cool; it was the perfect opportunity to wear this cute, slightly sheer tunic I picked up last week. This outfit was one of those that I think works better in person than in photographs - I don't quite think the awesomeness of the scribbled print or the easy fit comes across in these pictures. Nevertheless, I can't seem to get enough of graphic patterns mixed with earth tones these days, so I loved the black-and-white print paired with my beat-up boots and trusty army jacket.

  1. Nono. I can see how great this outfit is through these pictures. Something that I'd wanna wear myself! I'm in love with the earthy color palette and I love how fresh and easygoing this whole outfit is. =)

  2. Yeah, this outfit is pretty ballin'. I love the neautrally color palate and the simple chic quality of it all. And I love that that old Parisian dude is photobombing like mad. He knows a hottie when he sees one. :)

  4. So, this nonsense about this awesomeness not translating into pictures? NONSENSE. You look incredible.

  10. Haha, thank you! I think this kind of outfit encapsulates what I love most about dressing for spring, you really get to mix layers and pieces almost any way you want and still be comfortable. :)

  11. Ha! No way, that's not a photobomb - with that knotted sweater and oh-so-trendy panama hat, that is some straight up scene-stealing! "Let me show you Americans how it is done."

  12. I know, it's so cute! I was very good though and just looked without buying - we're starting to get just the littlest bit worried about how our luggage will make it through our next flight in one piece!

  13. Hee, perhaps I should have clarified - it's not that I don't think these pictures look ok, it's that the dress is still even more awesome in person! But thank you lady, I will take it. :)

  14. Dude, I have totally fallen behind on my blogroll too - sometimes I just want to send you all a little note that says, "Please refrain from all blogging for the next three days because I need to catch up. XO Em." Fortunately today is a little bit of a 'day off' from our hard, hard lifestyle of sightseeing, so hopefully I can start getting my comment on again too. :)

And while of course I love the flea, you shouldn't be too envious - the goodies are to die for, but the prices are often to die from. Nothing like back home!

  15. Yes! 'Safari chic' is the absolute perfect description of what I was going for, but I didn't even know what to call it. Sadly (or responsibly, if you ask boyfriend) I didn't bring home any treasures - fortunately there are still over a dozen other flea markets in Paris to scope out before we leave!

  16. Aw, thank you! But if you have the choice, you should never get out of PJs. :)

  17. Thanks! I can definitely tell it's going to be a hot-weather staple, I think I've worn it three times since we took these photos! It's basically an over-sized t-shirt shape, so the sleeves are sort of long-ish t-shirt sleeves. You can see them in my latest post.

  18. Haha, thanks Anja! It was definitely super-comfortable, perfect for a long day of flea market rummaging. And I didn't even notice when we took these that I was standing next to another black & white printed dress!
