Tomorrow is another moving day, so I am completely out of brain juice at this point - I have already deleted this post by accident once already!
I wore this over the weekend on a day trip to Utrecht, to see, among other things, Gerrit Rietveld's Schroeder House. Because I am a huge nerd, I dressed to match the house, and was beyond tickled to title this post 'De Stijl'. Because in addition to being the last good White Stripes album, 'De Stijl' was an early twentieth century Dutch movement in art, design, and architecture, but literally translated it just means "the style." And this is a style blog. Get it?
(See, I told you I was a nerd.)

I love how you look so tall and chic in this! Great title, too!
good luck with the move! another great look and title!
SO jealous you went to the Schroeder house! I hope it was amazing! You look great, as per usual.
You look fabulous in this outfit! Very stijlish :) I love the fitted blazer with the long dress. So dramatic!
You know your living my architectural dream, right? I just wanted to make sure.
Welcome to Utrecht!
You have the best bangs EVER.
Ask the Duplex
This is a super outfit, color, proportion, everything.
Well thank you! And they say maxis are only for tall girls. :)
Thanks! One transportation strike and a majorly delayed train later, and this *still* wasn't our roughest moving day yet... at this point we've got a pretty high tolerance for inconvenience, ha!
It was awesome! I had been with a school group six years ago, so I knew I had to take Chris there on this trip - I'd never been all that taken with De Stijl in my history classes (so much of its 'substance' seemed to simply be about a particular kind of applied ornament), but it's pretty incredible to see the Schroeder house in person. It's full of so much unexpected spatial invention.
Hahaha, thank you! Damn, now I wish I'd though of "stijlish!"
Haha, yeah... it's ok - in a few months I will be unemployed, sleeping on a futon in my parents' guest room and throwing darts to decide which big box store to send resumes to that day, and then these posts will just make me sad! :)
Thank you!
Thank you! They're getting a little long for my tastes at the moment, but I'm hoping to get a 'real' haircut soon so I'm trying to hold off on trimming them myself.
Thanks! There's nothing like a good set of shoulder pads for some drama. :)
