I've always liked matching outfits to activities. In school I used to plan my outfits for final presentations days in advance, always using my clothes or accessories to pick up on a particular color or pattern found in my project. Sadly, this habit kind of fell by the wayside once I entered the working world, but it's crept back up on me since we've been traveling. For our trip to Versailles a few days ago, there was no question what I would be wearing: pink! And just for good measure, I threw on a few pieces of my blingiest gold jewelry. I definitely fit right in with the furnishings in Marie Antoinette's bedroom.

Holy eff, Emily, this is SO so so perfect. So perfect. You are utterly Versailles-tastic in this getup.
i do believe that marie would appreciate this modern take on pink-ing it up!
OF COURSE - there really is no other color to wear to versailles!
I am pretty convinced I was actually completely camouflaged with the interiors - it's the only way I can explain the many, many (many!) times I got shoved by strangers that day!
If only I too were in a sexless marriage, under enormous public scrutiny, implicated in numerous scandals, and had access to an almost unlimited supply of material wealth - then I'd really have her style. :)
I was really hoping to pick up some pink macarons to eat in my photos, but alas, our fancy cookie budget got usurped by our wine budget - a girl's gotta have priorities.
