pleat party

Further proof of my unhealthy obsession with dressing to match my blog header.

Here's a preview of a few of my thrifting scores of the day - three pairs of pleated, high-waisted, butt-flattening, FUPA-inducing (don't Google that, really) walking shorts. The fact that I am super excited to hem these and wear them all summer either means that style blogging has completely warped my sense of what's acceptable to wear in public, or that I subconsciously really want to be single again.

I have been looking at several Goodwill for the same style of shorts. I think these style of shorts are completely acceptable to wear in public. You'll look awesome.

" Pleated, high-waisted, butt-flattening, FUPA-inducing (don't Google that, really) walking shorts."   *giggles*  It sounds so wrong, yet somehow it ends up being and looking right...at least for some, anyhow.  I have to confess that even I own a variation of this season's pleated "mom" jeans and every time I wear them I feel so comfy and even a little stylish. In a really ass-backwards sort of way, hahaha.  Wear what makes you happy! At the very least, those colors are fab!

Interesting... haha!

I'm still kind of resisting this mom shorts thing.  All the bloggers seem to look awesome in them but I remain unconvinced...

Thanks - now I just have to hope the temperature goes up again, it's been super chilly ever since I nabbed these!

Haha, thanks - hopefully I can avoid the dreaded fupa!

Haha, yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. :)

Thanks Courtney! So far I've got one pair ready-to-wear, I need to get started on the other two soon so I can take them on the next leg of our trip!

Hee! Yeah, it just makes such a difference when you wear something with confidence, I'm sure I should just go ahead and wear these with pride!

Haha, true! After hemming the first pair, I can tell he's warming up to the idea at least a little bit. :)

It was a pretty awesome thrifting trip, I tried on way more pants and shorts than I usually do and it definitely paid off!

I will admit, I have no idea how flattering (or, erm, not) these will be when all is said and done, but I do love the colors, and it'll be nice to have an alternative to constant skirts for the summer.... so we'll see. :)

It's so true - I think the best thrifting advice I can give is to go often, look at everything, and try to look for potential in items that can be altered or restyled.

Haha, oh no... well, you can't say I didn't warn you. :)
