necklace - Forever 21 / silk blouse - mommed / tote - German convention freebie / watch - Arkanoplatz flea market, Berlin / jeans - UO / brogues - Primark
I'm absolutely worn out from a long day of Major Life Decisions (MLD(tm)), checking out multiple art supply stores, and maybe (just maybe) staying up a little too late watching TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze (Best line? 'Babies! They're BABIES!'), so I'm afraid I don't have much to say about these photos. After discovering to my surprise just how much I liked occasionally wearing my shirt untucked a couple of weeks ago, today I thought I'd try out the oh-so-casual half-tucked look; I don't hate it, but the results didn't really wow me. Hard to say if it's me, or just this particular blouse. I also started out wearing my white linen blazer with this outfit, but tucked it away in my tote bag after a particularly warm U-Bahn ride. I'll have to give that pairing another shot once the weather cools down a bit.
I'm also hideously behind on answering emails and comments from the last week or so - I'll be tackling those tomorrow, but in the meantime, my apologies if you've been waiting for a response from me!

Personally, I adore this look on you! So chic!
Oh man, that TMNT reference takes me back! PS I love the way that necklace looks with that shirt!
I love that necklace!
I love the basic color combo and although I'm personally not a fashion person, would the half untucked look work better if the blouse weren't buttoned up all the way? I don't know but I do love how you play around with looks/styles and are always willing to try something new! : ) That's what keeps me reading your blog- the realness and the magnificent travel shots.
You look adorable, as always, but I agree that the half tucked shirt makes the outfit a little unfinished. I love your necklace and shoes, though!
Bah, I hear you on the major life decisions. Good luck with that. Lovely necklace and bun, by the way!
It's funny. Last night Tania (WWaNW) and I were talking about how incredibly your wear color and then, bam, there you are with neutrals! You look fabulous here- so crisp and chic. And while I get not being sure of the half-tuck, I think you look pretty ballin'. :)
I love the simplicity and chicness of this look! Perfect!
Hee, I don't mind admitting that it was so good. That scene with Vanilla Ice was even more ridiculous than I remembered!
Aw, thank you! It's just not quite what I had in mind, but definitely something work tweaking a little and trying again. :)
Thanks Hannah!
I was thinking the buttoned-up blouse would help keep the overall effect from being too messy, but I see what you mean - I think I might try it again with a slightly more over-sized blouse and see if that helps with the casualness of the whole thing.
And thank you! I think one of the big effects blogging (and reading other blogs) has had on my style is a greater willingness to experiment and take some risks, even though they don't always work out. :)
Thank you! I'm thinking maybe it would work better with a less fitted blouse than this one, so that the overall effect is more 'casual' and less 'unfinished.'
Haha - well, we've gotten so used to not living anywhere longer than a month that choosing where to move once we get back feels like this enormous committment! I think we have a general plan now though, and of course, if we change our minds, a lease will only last a year. :)
Man, how jealous am I that you guys get to hang out? SO jealous. Although pretty soon we'll all be in the same country and will have to work out some DC-CHi-NYC midpoint for thrifting and book-swaps - I vote Pittsburgh, but I do hear Akron is lovely. :)
Thanks Dani! I think a silk blouse and skinny jeans is going to be a wardrobe staple once I start working again.
buttoned up with a necklace? stealing this. ;)
It looks comfy and chic, so I'd say to go for it! :)
how does the half-tucked look look from the back?
