More earth tones, drapey sweater, and army jacket! I admit, while I like it, this outfit felt like a bit of a retread for me. Yesterday was laundry day so my options were pretty limited. I will also confess to being pretty pessimistic about receiving the package of clothes my folks shipped me from home - it's been held up in UK customs for nine days now, probably just sitting in a heap somewhere, and I just know they are going to find some evil excuse to charge me VAT on it. Up to 30% tax on whatever they decide my used, mostly thrifted (and even homemade!) clothes are worth. Ugh. Anyway, I'm starting to feel that mid-remix-challenge funk, but on the bright side, I'm half-way done! (And farther than I managed to get last time!)

We took these on our way to the Design Museum yesterday, where I actually was asked to be in some press photos for their new exhibition! I'm sure they were dazzled by my earrings, and my incredible looking-at-a-folding-bicycle-with-interest skills. The best part was that when the photographer approached me, I'd been playing Angry Birds on one of the exhibit's iPads for a solid ten minutes, and I thought he was coming to ask me to move on! Anyway, maybe now I'll be famous on the British design blogs..... or something.

Ugh, that stinks about your clothes! The earrings make this outfit really fun.

Best story ever! (the part about playing Angry Birds at the exhibit and getting asked to model) You look like such a professional and you make these loose, drapey pieces look so feminine. Perfection!

I'm keeping an eye on the Design Museum exhibition blog for the next few days - if they end up using my photo, I will definitely link to it here!

It's a pretty major drag, and made much more complicated by the fact that we're leaving London on Tuesday. I'm going to call the customs people Monday morning, but I'd be surprised if things got resolved before we leave. At least if it is delivered after we're gone, it's going to a family friend who lives here and she can ship it on to us. (And I keep trying to just take deep breaths and remind myself, they're just clothes, they're just clothes....)

Thanks Katie!

Thanks Jessica! Yeah, the mail situation has turned out to be a way bigger hassle than I'd ever imagined, but hopefully it will still work out somehow.

I'm pretty sure that as soon as I heard someone say, "Excuse me miss," I must have whipped around with the guiltiest look ever!

Haha, thanks Grace! Maybe I'm hitting a 30x30 stride? I don't know, but I definitely feel like wearing the same pieces over and over (and photographing them) is really making it clear to me which things I really love wearing and which ones I'm just kind of eh about.

you have great style, truly. your knack for layering is enough to make this girl go see what she can layer in her closet.
